Who actually teaches the sessions?+

Every tutor at Lyra graduated from the IB Diploma or an International School in Japan, and scored 6 or higher (out of 7) in the subjects they teach. We don't just "know about" the IB — we lived it. That's why we know how IB students actually think and where they get stuck.

Are sessions online or in-person?+

100% online. Every session is conducted over Google Meet + interactive whiteboard, 1-on-1, with a PowerPoint deck prepared by your tutor — the same way a real classroom runs. Sessions are recorded so students can review anytime.

What is a wellbeing consultation?+

A dedicated university-support tutor is available for confidential 1-on-1 talks — university stress, mock-exam anxiety, school issues, anything. Your first session is free; after that, each session is a flat ¥14,000. Available in English or Japanese.

My child is at an International School but their Japanese is slipping. Can you help?+

Yes — we run bilingual tracks for students at ASIJ, Nishimachi, Seisen, K. International, and similar. Many of our families want their child to graduate fully bilingual, and we build a maintenance plan around the school's English curriculum.

How does the free trial work?+

Book a 40-minute free trial (first trial only) via the form below or LINE. We assess current level, talk through goals with both student and parent, then match a tutor as soon as we can. No payment until you've met your tutor and agreed to continue.

What if my child isn't aiming for university yet?+

Plenty of our students are 8 or 11. Early support is often the highest-ROI tutoring you'll do — we focus on confidence, English fluency, and study habits long before any exam pressure.
