Who we are
Lyra Education (“Lyra”, “we”) — a subsidiary of Alma合同会社 — provides 1-on-1 online tutoring for International School and IB students. This policy explains how we handle personal information on lyraed.com and in our service, in line with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
What we collect
Information you submit through our forms: name, email address, country, school, subjects and grades, availability, and your message. For tutor applicants: school attended, graduation year, subjects and grades achieved, and a short bio.
We do not operate user accounts, and we do not collect payment card details on this website.
How your information is processed
Form submissions are transmitted via Web3Forms (a form-delivery service) and delivered to our private inbox. Our website is hosted on Netlify, which may record standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operations.
If analytics are enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (pages visited, general location). Analytics are never used to identify individuals, and we do not run advertising trackers.
Lesson recordings
Tutoring sessions are recorded solely so the enrolled student can review their own lessons. Recordings are never shared externally, never made public, and never used for marketing without separate written consent.
How we use information
To respond to inquiries, match students with tutors, schedule and deliver lessons, and operate and improve the service. We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, as needed to operate.
Retention and your rights
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information at any time by emailing contact@lyraed.com — we respond within a few business days.
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on this page.
